Definition and Structure of Tricone Bit

The drilling fluid is jetted to the bottom of the well through the water holes. On one hand, it cools the bit, as the friction between the bit and the rock generates a significant amount of heat during drilling. The circulation of the drilling fluid can remove this heat, preventing the bit from overheating and getting damaged. On the other hand, the pressure of the drilling fluid helps clean the bottom of the well by removing broken cuttings, thus avoiding accumulation that could affect drilling efficiency.
